Leo's Christmas Presents

Thank you to everyone for Leo's first ever Christmas presents! Leo received money for his savings account, and other great gifts that you can see in some of these photos. In the photo above is his Radio Flyer wagon that Grandpa Steve and Nana Paula sent from Boston! Leo took his first ride in it yesterday and LOVED it.

In the photo below, Leo is sitting with all the presents he received in Reno. Among them, a laptop, train and clothes from Uncle Blake and Auntie Staci (He LOVES the laptop, thanks B and S!), some great Japanese books from Janelle, and a Christmas music box from Auntie Shirley!

In the photo below, this is the winter jacket and hat that Auntie Brenda and Dale got Leo for his first time in the snow. It definitely keeps him warm and we'll put it to good use this winter!

And finally, here are a couple of stocking stuffers that I got Leo...first gift is Sophie the Giraffe. He has not let it out of his sights since he got this! It looks like the French are good for something! ha ha His second gift was his new favorite bib...yup, a Chargers bib!

Thanks again to everyone for making his first Christmas a wonderful one!

Leo's First Christmas - 2009

Leo has his first Christmas two days ago! We celebrated in Reno at Auntie Brenda's house and of course, we ate way too much! But there was snow on the ground in Reno so Leo got to experience snow for the first time! Above, is a family photo in front of Brenda and Dale's tree!

In the photo below, Elena and Ali were able to meet Leo for the first time!

As mentioned above, Leo was able to experience snow for the first time ever in Brenda and Dale's backyard! We put on his "snowsuit" and for the most part, he enjoyed it...until we laid him down to do a snow angel! (He started crying)

We also took Leo to Mt Rose to get him outside! He had a blast, wearing his new jacket that Auntie Brenda got him. Look how cute it is!
All in all, Leo had a great first Christmas in Reno...he already can't wait for Christmas #2 in 363 days!

More Holiday Gatherings!

More holiday gatherings and I love it! Over the past two days, we were able to get together with some of our greatest friends in the world in San Francisco and Sacramento. In the photo above, Ryan, who recently moved to San Antonio, Texas was in town to visit family and friends for the holidays. Here is a photo of Leo and I with Ryan and Jeff, two of my best friends since we were 12 years old.

In the photos above and below, we were at 21st Amendment in San Francisco visiting with some of our great friends in the City. That is Anne and Litta with Bethany...and of course Leo, trying to sleep! ha ha
And below, is Leo and I with Andre and Colin, two of my great friends in SF. We miss seeing you all and last night reminded us of the "good old days" in San Francisco!

Holiday Gatherings This Weekend!

We had a bunch of holiday gatherings this weekend...this is usually the case the weekend before Christmas. On Saturday, we went to Marysville for our annual gathering of high school friends. This has been an annual tradition for over 10 years now and it is one of my favorite nights of the year. We always start it out with dinner, then drinks at a bar, and then close it out playing poker until very early in the morning.
Even though we just had our reunion this summer, it is always great to see everyone. We were a very tight knit class and were all quite close. You can make great friends throughout your life, but there's just something about the friends you grow up with, that you cant ever duplicate with newer friends. Above is a photo of us at the bar in Red Robin! Oh, and I won $50 in poker!

Also this weekend, we met up with some friends in Sacramento and went ice skating at the rink in midtown. Unfortunately, we had to leave early to put Leo to bed so we couldn't ice skate (Which is probably a good thing for me!), but it was fun to hang out with everyone on an unseasonably warm winter evening. Above is Leo with Bethany at the rink. Next photo is of Chris and the family, and the last photo are four of our friends...Christine (2nd from right was the organizer...great job Christine!

I love this time of year! More photos coming from a few more gatherings coming up in the next few days!

Christmas at 1764 4th Avenue!

Since this is Leo's first Christmas on earth, we thought we would document some photos of him with our decorations at our house.
Above is Leo's first photo with his stocking that my Mom got for him, as well as his first Santa hat. It's pretty darn cute.
This photo above is Leo in his Reindeer costume (Thanks Mom!), and I am sure most of you saw this photo in our Christmas card that we sent out! He likes this costume a lot cause it keeps him warm!
This is our beautiful fake Christmas tree! I know, I know to you Christmas enthusiasts, we shouldn't have a fake tree, but understand, when we had real trees in the past, they were a pain to clean, and our dogs would always pee on it! ha ha

And in this last photo, it just shows our Christmas stockings with our names on it. Isn't Leo's first stocking cute?! We look forward to spending the holidays with friends and family!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Fall/Winter Weather!

Being that we were gone for 9 days in Boston, there were a HUGE amount of leaves in our front yard when we got back. And because I was so busy with work this week, I was finally able to get to the leaves on Saturday. And you know me, I will get a posed photo with Leo with anything! This photo turned out great!

Rumor has it that it might snow in Sacramento tomorrow....what, are we on the East Coast now?!

Leo's 6 Month Birthday!

December 3rd was Leo's 6 month Birthday...he's getting so big, over 18lbs now! Of course, we took his monthly photo with the UC Davis Stuffed Cow! He now rolls over, sits up on his own and can pull himself up to a standing position!
Happy 1/2 year Birthday buddy!

Leo's first Thanksgiving in Boston

We celebrated Leo's first Thanksgiving in Boston with my in-laws...we were there for 8 days and had a great time. We of course, ate way too much, but had a lot of fun. A lot of the Hayes family made it to Hingham to celebrate the holiday! Leo's Great Grandmother, cousins from upstate NY, Philadelphia and Australia all were in attendance!
We went to a Celtics game in Boston and I have to say, the TD Garden is one of the nicest arenas I have ever seen. (United Center in Chicago is the best)

We also made it to my in-laws' new house in Cape Cod...and what a beautiful house it is! I attached a photo of Bethany, Paula and Leo in front of the house. We'll hopefully be spending plenty of days there in the future!

We made it back on Tuesday night and unfortunately working the rest of this week! But Leo's first Thanksgiving was a memorable one, even though he won't remember it! We have plenty of photos to show him in the future!

Our Blog!

Since everyone is not on Facebook, I thought it might be cool to try out blogging so all of our family and friends can check out what's going on in our world....well Leo's world! ha ha

Bare with me as I try to get up to speed on this, but so far, it's a lot of fun!
